Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at SDSN

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network is committed to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), in alignment with our mission to promote integrated approaches to sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We strive to create a better, more inclusive world and workplace, to advance an inclusive culture at our organization, and to enhance the effectiveness of our institution. SDSN’s senior leadership works in partnership with our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee (DEIBC) to deepen our engagement with these principles.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee

The DEIBC is a staff-formed and led volunteer committee that was established in 2020. The mission of the DEIBC is to advocate, engage, and empower staff by aligning SDSN’s programmatic activities and operations with the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and to sustain a framework for the organization that fully embodies the objectives of the SDGs. Through regular meetings and exchange of knowledge and perspectives, the DEIBC aims to promote these values through active learning and improving accountability measures while creating an environment where all voices are heard and celebrated.

Gender Equality Plan

SDSN’s Gender Equality Plan (GEP) aims to build on the organization’s existing policies and work done to date on diversity, equity, and inclusion and to embed gender equality considerations into the structure, policies, and culture of the organization at all levels, promoting a culture of respect and inclusion and allowing every person to reach their full potential.
