The National SDSN for Germany was formally launched in Berlin on April 14, 2014. It strives to promote the sustainable development of Germany as well as German efforts for sustainable development worldwide. In particular, SDSN Germany has the following objectives:

  • to foster the debate on sustainable development within German academia, society and politics;
  • to promote practical solutions for sustainable development within Germany and across the globe;
  • to link German expertise to the global SDSN and to global discussions on a universal agenda for future sustainable development (“post-2015 agenda”), as well as to its implementation;
  • to support cooperation among SDSN members in Germany in general as well as in the SDSN context, and to foster exchange with German business, politics and society.
