Founder of the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), Laurence Tubiana is also professor and director of the Sustainable Development Center at Sciences Po Paris and Professor of international affairs at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York. She currently serves as Special Representative to the French Government on the 2015 Climate Conference.
Since September 2012, Laurence Tubiana has co-chaired the Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). She also chairs the Board of Governors of the French Development Agency (AFD). In 2012, she was appointed by the French government to the National Steering Committee on Energy Transition to facilitate the discussion on France’s energy and provide recommendations on the definition of long-term pathways for the French energy system.
From 1997 to 2002, Laurence Tubiana was Project Leader on global environmental issues and Environmental Advisor to the Prime Minister Lionel Jospin. Previously, she was Director of Research at the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) and the representative of European NGOs to the World Bank. She also chaired the French NGO Solagral.
Laurence Tubiana is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, a Doctor of Economics and Inspector General of Agriculture.
