Habiba Ben Romdhane is the Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology & Prevention Research Department, at the University of Tunis, since 2002. She has held several positions in preventive and academic medicine and public health. She was the leader in setting up the Tunisian strategy on cardiovascular disease prevention and control. She has coordinated several epidemiological studies on NCDs, and implemented the Healthy Urbanization Project and the first Cardiovascular Disease Registry in Tunisia. Dr. Ben Romdhane has published many scientific papers, monographs and books on women’s health, NCDs and health policy. In 2001, she received an award from the Maghreb Medical Science Society for her work on Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention.
