national Network
Region: Asia & Pacific

SDSN Thailand, co-hosted by the Center for SDG Research and Support (SDG Move), the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Chulalongkorn University, and the Technology and Informatics Institute for Sustainability, National Science and Technology Development Agency, mobilizes its members in Thailand and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Established in 2020, key focus areas include promoting and supporting the SDGs and education for sustainable development (ESD) through delivering workshops and trainings for multi-sectoral organizations and student leaders, as well as knowledge exchange programs for university executives; and localizing the SDGs through key partnerships with government.

The Network Holds Workshops and Trainings via SDG Education Platforms

SDSN Thailand has promoted and supported the SDGs and sustainability education for multi-sectoral organizations by delivering 25 workshops and trainings. These ranged from basic SDG knowledge to SDG policy implementation in 145 organizations through online and offline platforms.

Student Leaders Nationwide Receive Training on SDG Localization

SDSN Thailand established a network of 100 student leaders from different universities across the country who then received trainings on SDG localization. Three university teams were selected to receive seed funds to implement small scale SDG localization initiatives. In 2024, SDSN Thailand aims to expand the number of universities to include more youth leaders who will be trained and supported to create their own SDG youth groups/networks in their local communities.

Study Tour Convenes Thai University Executives for Knowledge Exchange

SDSN Thailand initiated its first study tour program bringing together 25 university executives from major universities in Thailand for a knowledge exchange experience at Sunway University on December 13-14, 2023. The study tour involved roundtable discussions with Sunway University Leadership and SDSN colleagues, as well as a campus tour. The delegation also gained insights on Sunway’s policies, education and operations as they relate to sustainability and the SDGs.
