Climate Change: Water Shortage, Land Use, and Communities Challenges

This policy brief was written by Madina Kazbek, a former manager of SDSN Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is on the verge of facing a water shortage, which necessitates a clear water policy from the government. The country is already suffering from salinization, desertification, and recurrent spring floods. The policy brief highlights the issue of water shortage in Kazakhstan and introduce some of the policy recommendations to mitigate them. This policy brief aligns well between the five priorities of SDSN Kazakhstan, and is part of an effort to inform the Kazakh government on research and policies toward the advancements SDGs in the country.
