SDSN Philippines, hosted by the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability at Ateneo de Manila University and established in 2015, mobilizes its members in the Philippines and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Key activities include mobilizing the youth population to create innovative solutions for a sustainable future and organizing a webinar series on food systems, carbon neutrality on campus, and education for sustainable development.

Webinar Series Discuss Zero Hunger and Sustainable Food Systems

SDSN Philippines organized a three-part “Different Actors in the Sustainable Food Systems and the Future” webinar series and a five-part “Policy & Governance of Food Systems” webinar series which featured 27 resource speakers and 16 reactors under its SDG 2 Zero Hunger Project. The SDG 2 events garnered an overall rating of 92-99% in the post-event evaluations with participants claiming to have deepened their understanding on the discussions on food systems.

High-level Event Assesses National Roadmap at SDGs midpoint

In 2022, SDSN Philippines hosted the "Crossroad to 2030: Reviewing and Recalibrating the SDGs Roadmap of the Philippines," which featured the 2022 Sustainable Development Report presentation by SDSN’s Vice President Guillaume Lafortune and the Philippine government’s response through NEDA Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon.

Networks' Solutions Highlighted at Regional Forum

Both of SDSN Philippine’s solutions were selected to participate in the inaugural Asia-Pacific Solutions Forum hosted by SDSN in Sunway City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. These solutions initiatives were the “Community-led Central Kitchen Model for Feeding School Children” presented by Dr. Carmela C. Oracion from the Ateneo Center for Education Development and “Advancing Client-centered Care and Expanding Sustainable Services for TB” presented by Mr. Elvin Ivan Y. Uy of the Philippine Business for Social Progress, Inc.

The Network Hosts Inter-network Webinar on Incubating Solutions

SDSN Philippines, together with SDSN Hong Kong and Thailand, co-organized the first inter-network webinar titled “Incubating Sustainable Solutions” for secondary and university students. Organized by 6 partnering institutions and 2 student organizations, the webinar was attended by 130 participants from 7 countries.
