SDSN Portugal, hosted by by NOVA University Lisbon, the Centre of Engineering and Product Development (CEIIA), and Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr (IMVF), mobilizes its members in Portugal and leverages their strengths to help realize the SDGs. Established in 2023, its key focus areas include raising awareness and engagement on the SDGs and promoting a national dialogue among all stakeholders, including organizing high-level events, such as the ‘Paving the Way to the Pact of Future’ conference ahead of the UN’s Summit of the Future. The network also undertakes policy engagement activities, such as collaborating on the elaboration of the 2030 Portuguese Roadmap.

The Network Contributes to Governmental '2030 Roadmap'

SDSN Portugal was launched in November 2023. Although a relatively new network, it is already collaborating on the national '2030 Roadmap' with the relevant office of the SDGs within the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

30 High-level Members Join SDSN Portugal's Leadership Council

SDSN Portugal has established a Leadership Council with 30 high-level members with stakeholders from across the sectoral, social, and academic spectrum. During this period, the network is focusing on expanding the number of members and engaging them in different initiatives.

Network Launch Convenes Multi-sector Stakeholders During Annual SDG Event

On November 2, 2023, a launch event was organized at CEiiA’s headquarters in Matosinhos, convening the three co-hosts of the network and many other key representatives of the Portuguese SDG scene, including the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda. The next day, Prof. Júlia Seixas, chair of SDSN Portugal, presented the network at the annual event of ODS Local, the Portuguese platform of municipalities for the SDGs.
