SDSN Reaches Out to Youth in the Dominican Republic

On November 1, 2014, SDSN New York Director Glenn Denning addressed a gathering of 1,500 youth at the Tenth Annual International Conference of the Americas (CILA 2014)held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. With the theme of “Youth and Sustainable Development in the Post-2015 Agenda,” the conference was hosted by the Association of the United Nations in the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR) and the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE).

Denning joined Dr. Leonel Fernández, former President of the Dominican Republic and President of both FUNGLODE and UNA-DR, and H.E. Ambassador Macharia Kamau, Permanent Representative of Kenya Mission to the United Nations and co-chair of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, in highlighting the critical importance of active youth participation in achieving more prosperous, sustainable and inclusive societies.
