SDGs Today #yourSDGStory campaign and Twitter live stream with SDG Advocate Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim

For the first 17 days of November, the SDGs Todayand Esri's ArcGIS StoryMapsteams collaborated to launch a #yourSDGStory campaign on Twitter as a final push for submissions for the 2020 ArcGIS StoryMaps Competition for the SDGs.

Throughout the campaign, we featured datasets and StoryMaps corresponding with the SDG of the day to advance awareness on that SDG, on related timely data, and on the importance of storytelling. The campaign culminated on GIS Day, November 18th, with a live Twitter session with UN SDG Advocate, environmental activist, and guest judge for the 2020 ArcGIS StoryMaps Competition, Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim. Viewers learned how Hindou became a UN advocate for the global goals and climate change. You can access the livestream here.

The 2020 ArcGIS StoryMaps Competition for the SDGs closed on November 25th with an impressive number of submissions from around the world, from both the student and professional track. We would like to thank storytellers globally for submitting inspiring stories for positive change.

On Dec 16th, we will announce the finalists whose StoryMaps will move on to our final round of judging.
The winners of the 2020 ArcGIS StoryMaps Competition for the SDGs will be announced in February 2021.
