ATHENA RC becomes the third host institution of SDSN Greece

SDSN is thrilled to announce that ATHENA RC has been enthusiastically accepted to become the third host institution of SDSN Greece , alongside ICRE8: International Center for Research on the Environment and the Economy and the Political Economy of Sustainable Development Lab.

The national network has been working closely with ATHENA Research and Innovation Centre team via the Sustainable Development Unit , scientifically directed by Professor Phoebe Koundouri and EIT Climate-KIC Hub Greece , which is directed by Professor Phoebe Koundouri. Furthermore, a significant part of SDSN Greece research and administrative activity is carried out under ATHENA RC.

ATHENA Research Centre based in Athens was founded in 2003 under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (Ministry of Development). The Centre is devoted to the promotion of innovative information, communication and knowledge technologies in the industrial and services sectors and to the development of scientific and technological research in the sectors of information technology, knowledge, communication and automating production processes. Through national and international R&D projects, digital ecosystem development initiatives, innovative application activities and knowledge transfer to the social and economic environment.

SDSN Greece is part of the global Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. SDSN publishes every year several reports related to the SDGs and Sustainable Development with "Sustainable Development Report" standing out, giving so the opportunity to its members to express their insights and feedback on the implementation of the SDGs in their country.
