Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (CLAPES UC)
The mission of CLAPES UC is the study, creation of knowledge and dissemination of analysis related to economic and social policies for Chile, Latin America, and the emerging world.
The main activities that CLAPES UC focuses on are: (a) Research: publishing working papers on education, taxes, pension systems, fuel prices mechanisms, etc.; (b) Designing new economic and social indicators: (i) cost of living of elderly people and (ii) mining productivity in Chile; (c) Building multidisciplinary working groups within the Pontifical University of Chile – with faculties of Law, Medicine and Social Sciences; and (d) Holding workshops, roundtables and conferences where different public and private people discuss economic, social, and political trending topics of Public Policy.
