The National Institute of Cartography (INC) of Cameroon is a Public Administrative establishment, with legal personality and financial autonomy. It was at first called (National Geographical Center) known in the French language as CGN (Centre Géographique National) founded during the colonial era. The National Institute of Cartography was created by the decree 2003/162 of 27 June 2003, and placed under the trusteeship of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation, and under financial guardianship of the Ministry of Finance. The National Institute of Cartography ensures the execution of the work relating to the mapping and remote sensing, as well as geographical research on the whole of the national territory. INC focus on both the conceptual and operational framework of sustainable development in the context of the developing countries in general and of Cameroon in particular.
