The Regional SDSN for the Caribbean is hosted by the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. It is open to all countries bordering the Caribbean Sea, as well as institutions working on sustainable development in the region.



The SDSN Caribbean was launched on May 7-8, 2014, and featured keynote addresses by Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller of Jamaica and SDSN Director Jeffrey D. Sachs. Proposals for solutions initiatives were presented.

The SDSN Caribbean will focus on 3 priority areas:

1) The Blue Economy

2) Energy

3) Climate Change Adaptation

There is also interest in pursuing education initiatives under the auspices of the SDSN Caribbean.
