Privacy Policy
The SDG Academy values your privacy, and we have created this Privacy Policy to explain why we collect particular information and how we will protect your privacy within our website. This policy outlines our use and disclosure of the personal information collected by or submitted to the SDG Academy. In order to fully understand your rights, we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully.

What information do we collect and how do we use it?
In registering for SDG Academy courses, we ask that our users provide their contact information, which may include name, email address, country of origin, and similar information. Users may also voluntarily offer information about their level of education, gender, institutional affiliation, and/or professional experience. Contact information is used to send customized communications to students, manage student accounts, track student progress in the course, and improve our website. Demographic information is used to analyze the student population and tailor/improve course material accordingly.

In addition, we collect an IP address from users of the site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with the server, administer our website, analyze geographic trends, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site and the content of our courses. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

We may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our website. Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to the computer that is browsing that site and are used for record-keeping purposes at that site. Use of cookies makes web-surfing easier by performing certain functions such as saving your passwords, your personal preferences regarding your use of the particular website and making sure you don’t see the same ad repeatedly. Your browser is probably set to accept cookies. However, if you would prefer not to receive cookies, you can alter the configuration of your browser to refuse cookies.

No financial information is collected by this website.

With whom do we share your personal information?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may make non-identifiable information in aggregate form available to select third parties to show usage trends and patterns.

How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. All information provided to the SDG Academy is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt data before you send it to us. We also offer the use of a secure server that is only accessible to select qualified employees of the organization. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we make every effort to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.

Email Communications and Opt Out
We send email communications, including course updates, periodic newsletters, campaigns, and other updates from both the SDG Academy and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network to those on our email list a number of times per year. For course related materials, you may alter your notification preferences or un-enroll from a course to discontinue such correspondence. All email communications from the SDG Academy will provide the opportunity to unsubscribe at the bottom of the email, and doing so will remove you from our email list for future correspondence.

Our users are often our biggest advocates and often elect to refer other students to courses that they may find relevant or interesting. If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about a course, we will ask you for the friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the website. The SDG Academy website stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.

Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which the SDG Academy bears no responsibility.
