SDG Academy Announces edX Partnership 
The SDG Academy is partnering with edX.org to offer its online courses on sustainable development on edX’s global platform as of August 31, 2018. Courses are now open for enrollment and can be viewed here.

Call for Abstracts: Present at the Low-Emissions Solutions Conference (LESC) 
In an official Global Climate Action Summitaffiliate side event, the LESC is hosting its first installment of the year entitled, The Land-Energy Nexus in Climate Change Mitigation in San Francisco, California on 11 September. We invite researchers working on land- and energy-based climate change mitigation to submit an abstract to present a poster.

Alpback-Laxenburg Group on biodiversity and climate change 
With support from the SDSN, the Alpbach-Laxenburg Group convened thought leaders at the 2018 Alpbach Forum to explore how to reconcile the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Paris Climate Agreement. The group’s statement is available here.

We are very pleased to announce that Emma is joining the SDSN as Associate Director and Head of the New York office. She comes to the SDSN with a long experience in international development at the United Nations.

  • Read the summary from the 2018 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development where SDSN participated in a number of events.
  • During the first half of 2018, SDSN Youth worked to strengthen and expand its networks globally, with 20 regional/national networks coordinating across 35 countries. Read the full mid-year progress report here.
  • The Forum on Scenarios for Climate and Societal Futures happening 11-13 March 2019 released their call for abstracts. Submit an abstract by 28 September.
  • SDSN Youth Indonesia conducted a workshop to strategize the role of Indonesia’s youth in achieving the SDGs locally.
