An MoU signed between the UNSSC and the SDSN Association on 19 September 2016 commits the SDG Academy and UNSSC to work together to design and develop a diverse set of learning and training products through courses on the SDGs and the broader 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The initial focus is on the design and development of courses such as the Foundational Course on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Leading in Sustainable Development and future courses on addressing gender inequities within the context of sustainable development. The cooperation also includes mutual support for communities of practice, joint knowledge products, and initiatives to support learning and capacity development within the United Nations system.

The two-year partnership between the SDG Academy and the UNSSC aims to bring together a wealth of expertise from the Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s (SDSN) and the United Nations’ pool of practitioners, leaders and vast network of partners from civil society, government, academia and the private sector. The agreement aspires to respond to the training needs of UN agencies, and to assist in implementing the UN System’s far-reaching reform agenda through transformative leadership, life-long education programs, and integrated learning approaches for Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
