On September 25, 2015, SDSN Leadership Council members Johan Rockström and Jeffrey Sachs participated in an event hosted by the EAT Initiative, in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CGIAR Consortium and the World Health Organization. The event was called “Achieving Sustainable Nutrition Security for All” and focused on how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) support improving the sustainability and nutrition of diets worldwide. Other speakers included Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of the World Food Programme; Richard Horton, Editor in Chief of The Lancet; and Frank Rijsberman, CEO of the CGIAR Consortium.
The EAT Initiative, SDSN, and CGIAR Consortium published a statement on September 17, 2015, entitled “Integrated Indicators for Sustainable Food Systems and Healthy Diets in the Post-2015 Development Agenda” which makes recommendations for 11 integrated indicators to measure progress towards achieving healthy diets from sustainable food
systems within in the SDGs framework.
