The 3rd Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development will take place at Columbia University in New York, USA, on September 23 and 24, 2015. This year’s conference theme is Implementing the SDGs: Getting Started, adn the conference will immediately precede the UN SDG Summit.

The aim of the conference is to identify and share practical, evidence-based solutions that can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will be agreed upon at the United Nations immediately following the conference. Confirmed speakers include WBCSD President Peter Bakker, UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson, Asian Development Bank Vice-President Stephen Groff, Journalist Femi Oke, Former PM of Ireland Mary Robinson, SRC Executive Director Johan Rockström, and SDSN Director Jeffrey Sachs. The program will also feature nearly 200 presentations from students, scholars, and professionals. Presentations will cover an array of themes ranging from health and education to biodiversity and planetary boundaries. There will also be sessions devoted to financing the SDGs, as well as monitoring and evaluating progress. In addition, there will be a cocktail reception for networking.

Students of all ages are especially welcome to attend! There is a special student rate of $30 to attend, and panels on Youth and Sustainable Development and Careers in Sustainable Development.
