The Andean Regional Network of the SDSN will be launched during the Andean Regional Conference on Sustainable Development to be held in Quito, Ecuador on June 29th and 30th, 2015. Yachay Tech University will host the regional network.

The specific objectives of the Andean Regional Network are to mobilize leaders from different sectors in the region to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda, promote “Solutions Initiatives” that address key sustainable development challenges in the Andean Region, promote an open dialogue between different sectors of society to address major sustainable development challenges, and promote sustainable development in academic programs of higher education.

The conference will include the participation of regional and global experts and multilateral organizations in Latin America, as well as representatives from the Andean nations of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. Conference speakers include Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, Professor Jeffrey Sachs, and Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez Sornodo, among others.
