On January 20, 2015, the SDSN hosted representatives from the OECD at a seminar at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Mathilde Mesnard, Senior Advisor to the OECD Secretary General and NAEC Co-Coordinator presented on New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC), an OECD initiative launched in 2012. Glenn Denning, SDSN Director of New York Office, chaired the discussion in which William Hynes, Senior Economist at OECD, and Patrick Paul Walsh, Senior Advisor at SDSN, also joined.

The seminar examined the new approaches and policy tools needed to promote economic growth and address global environmental and social problems. The discussion focused on this emerging  agenda for inclusive and sustainable growth and compare its approach to the emerging Post-2015 development agenda in the UN.
