The 3rd Annual Meeting of the Low Carbon Asia Research Network (LoCARNet) was held in Bogor, Indonesia, on November 24-26, 2014. The three-day meeting, organized by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in collaboration with the Centre for Climate Risk and Opportunity Management in Southeast Asia and Pacific (CCROM-SEAP), Bogor Agriculture University, Indonesia, brought together approximately 100 low-carbon researchers and stakeholders to exchange knowledge and learn from the past experiences of various countries and institutions.
Part II of the plenary panel, Promoting an Integrated Knowledge-Base System for Scientific Low-Carbon Development Policymaking in Asia, provided a detailed review of the Deep Decarbonization Pathway Project (DDPP) with presentations from DDPP Manager Carl Mas and lead researchers from the Japanese (Dr. Mikiko Kainuma, National Institute for Environmental Studies), Indonesian (Dr. Ucok Siagian, Center for Research on Energy Policy-Bandung Institute of Technology), and Indian (Prof. P.R. Shukla, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad) DDPP country research teams.
