The SDSN would like to congratulate UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the release of his report, A Life of Dignity for All, containing updates on the Goals and his vision for the road ahead. The report was released in preparation for the special General Assembly event on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in September.

Ban says in the report that “the world’s quest for dignity, peace, prosperity, justice, sustainability and an end to poverty has reached an unprecedented moment of urgency,” and urges the international community to take “every step possible” to achieve the MDGs by 2015.

The report contains several references to the work of the SDSN, saying that the Leadership Council’s report of 6 June 2013 (An Action Agenda for Sustainable Development) contributed the perspective of the scientific community to his report.
