Paris, 9 Aug 2013. On July 25, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network released the draft report Solutions for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems: Technical Report for the Post-2015 Development Agenda and now it is inviting comments and inputs from stakeholders.

The report describes why agriculture is central to development, where agriculture belongs in the post-2015 development agenda, and outlines solutions and implementation pathways to feed a growing world population while reversing ecological degradation. Evidence-based indicators are proposed which could be applied to track progress towards meeting new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their targets, at local, national, regional and global scales. The effective use of the indicators will require investing more in monitoring agriculture, and taking advantage of rapid advances in digital information technologies.
