Vladimir Mau has served as Rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration since 2002. He previously worked as director of the Russian Government’s Working Center for Economic Reforms and as deputy director of the Institute for Economy in Transition. He played an active role in developing economic reforms in post-Soviet Russia, serving as a consultant to the Chairman of the Russian Federation’s Government from 1992-1993. An economic historian, Dr. Mau received a doctorate in economic sciences in 1993 and another in applied economics in 1999. He is the author of many books, including The Challenge of Revolution: Contemporary Russia in Historical Perspective (2001, with Irina Starodubrovskaya)
