Program Associate, SDG Financing, New York
Taylor Smith serves as Program Associate for the SDSN Secretariat office in New York. She is currently a member of the SDG Financing Team and supports the ongoing effort to conduct SDG costing analyses at the regional and national levels, helping national governments to assess their overall SDG budgetary needs. Taylor also undertakes research on the role of private philanthropy in contributing to the SDGs, where she supports the Move Humanity initiative, a partnership between SDSN and Human Act.
Previously, Taylor worked as a Consultant at UN DESA, in the Division for Sustainable Development Goals, where she was at the center of UN promotion for the 2030 Agenda, particularly SDG7 on access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Prior to the UN, Taylor was a Research Associate at the Institute for Energy and the Environment in Vermont. She holds an MA in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School and a BA in International Affairs from Trinity Washington University, where she graduated summa cum laude. Taylor was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Iota Rho honor societies. She is now a member of the Vermont Law School Alumni Association and serves as the Regional Group Representative for all of New York City.
