Michael L. Ross is Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies.  He has served on advisory boards for the World Bank, the National Intelligence Council, the Revenue Watch Institute, the Natural Resource Charter, and has published in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The New York Times, as well as leading academic journals.  His most recent book, The Oil Curse: How Petroleum Wealth Shapes the Development of Nations was named an ‘Outstanding Academic Title’ for 2012 by Choice magazine, and is forthcoming in Russian and Arabic.
