Ben Aryee is the CEO of the Ghana Mineral Commission, which is responsible for the regulation and management of the utilization of Ghana’s mineral resources and the coordination and implementation of policies relating to mining.

Prior to being appointed the Chief Executive, Mr. Aryee joined the Commission in 1984 and rose to become the Director of Finance, Marketing and Research in 1999. He graduated from the University of Ghana with BA Hons in Economics, with studies in Geography, in 1984. He subsequently graduated with an M.Eng. in Mineral Economics from the McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1992. He also finished an MBA at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Green Hill in Ghana in 2002. He has to his credit a number of publications/presentations, especially on Ghana’s mining sector, fiscal regimes and sustainable development through small-scale mining.
