Barbara Kux is a member of the Member of Board of Directors of Total and Henkel.

As Chief Sustainability Officer, Barbara is responsible for the company’s sustainability strategy and the marketing of the Environmental Portfolio. She initiated a new and comprehensive sustainability program leading to the recognition of Siemens as Supersector Leader “Industrial Goods and Services” in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in 2012.

Barbara is a member of the Board of Directors of Total S.A., France, the INSEAD Advisory Board and the Siemens Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Furthermore, she serves as business representative in the Resource Efficiency Platform of the European Commission.

Following studies in Switzerland and the U.S., she completed her MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau with distinction and started her career at McKinsey & Company. From 1989 on she held top management positions at leading global companies before she was appointed the first woman to the Managing Board of Siemens.

Wall Street Journal and Fortune have recognized her among leading and most powerful international women in business and the World Economic Forum in Davos awarded her as Global Leader of Tomorrow.
